Calvin Theological Seminary

Calvin Theological Seminary is a theological seminary located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded in 1876, it is the oldest denominational ministry and the sole theological seminary of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA). The seminary serves a diverse student body of approximately 300 students from over 40 denominations worldwide. Calvin Theological Seminary offers a range of academic programs, including Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Theological Studies (MTS), Master of Theology (ThM), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and ecclesiastical certificate programs. The seminary's curriculum emphasizes biblical, authentic, contextual, and life-changing ministry rooted in historic Christianity, combining the strengths of the Reformed tradition with contemporary ministry practices. A majority of ordained ministers serving in CRCNA congregations have received their theological education at Calvin Theological Seminary. Despite its affiliation with the CRCNA, which comprises approximately 300,000 members in over 1,000 congregations across the US and Canada, nearly half of CTS's students come from denominations other than the CRCNA.
