Cal Lightweight Crew

California Lightweight Crew is a sport club based in Oakland, California, that has been a part of UC Berkeley since the early 1970s. As a relatively small organization with four employees, they have achieved significant success, generating $50 million in annual revenue. The club operates out of the Jack London Aquatic Center (JLAC) on the Oakland Estuary, a convenient 15-minute drive from the university campus. The Cal Lightweights are unique in their dedication to men's and women's lightweight rowing, being the only team in the western United States focused on this specialized discipline. They offer rowing opportunities to all skill levels, welcoming both experienced rowers and complete novices. New rowers receive comprehensive instruction at the start of each season, allowing them to quickly progress and participate in competitive events.
