BUILDing Dreams

BUILDing Dreams is a non-profit organization headquartered in Redwood City, California. The organization employs 620 people and generated $12.4 million in revenue. Founded in 1999, BUILDing Dreams provides mentorship and experiential learning opportunities to youth in under-resourced communities. BUILDing Dreams offers a four-year entrepreneurship program designed to support students from 9th through 12th grade. Students work with peers and community mentors to develop business ideas, pitch to potential funders, and launch real businesses. BUILD also assists students with college applications, explores college and career options, and encourages expansion of their businesses or community internships. The organization's unique approach utilizes entrepreneurship-based, experiential learning to help students develop 21st Century Skills and reinforce Common Core curriculum.
