Who is BUILD at Texas AM University
BUILD at Texas A&M University is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in College Station, Texas. The organization is student-run and employs 10 people. BUILD constructs Texas Aggie Medical Clinics (TAMCs) which are sent to countries in need around the world. These clinics are built from 40-foot shipping containers and stocked with surplus medical supplies and used equipment through a partnership with Medical Bridges. BUILD has served local, national, and global communities through four different projects, transforming a total of 47 containers. The organization has undertaken several impactful projects over the years. In 2013, BUILD partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for the Vasquez family. The 12-for-12 Campaign (2014-2016) saw BUILD construct TAMCs dedicated to the 12 fallen Aggie Bonfire victims, and a prototype TAMC for the Rockport community following Hurricane Harvey. The 5-for-5 Campaign (2017) honored five notable Aggies and resulted in BUILD receiving recognition from the Texas House of Representatives. BUILD's current project, the Fallen Aggie Hero Project, started in 2018, and focuses on dedicating each TAMC after an Aggie who gave the ultimate sacrifice. This project introduced their first education unit, deployed alongside a TAMC in Jordan. Visit buildtamu.com for more information.
