Breast Friends

Breast Friends is a non-profit organization based in Tigard, Oregon. Founded in 2000 by Becky Olson and Sharon Henifin, both cancer survivors, the organization employs 30 people and generates $2.5 million in annual revenue. Breast Friends is dedicated to enhancing the lives of female cancer patients by providing support and resources to patients and their loved ones. The organization offers the H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Provide Empathy) Program, which educates friends and family members on how to effectively offer support to cancer patients. The program equips them with the knowledge and tools to understand the challenges faced by loved ones undergoing treatment and connects them with valuable resources. Breast Friends also partners with businesses to deliver webinars and training sessions on supporting employees navigating cancer treatment or re-entering the workforce post-treatment. In addition to the H.O.P.E. Program, Breast Friends offers "Thriving Beyond Cancer," a two-day workshop designed for women who have completed cancer treatment and seek a more fulfilling life. This program is available to hospitals and clinics nationwide. Breast Friends believes that no woman should face cancer alone and strives to ensure that patients receive the necessary emotional, spiritual, and physical support throughout their journey.
