Breaking Ground

Breaking Ground is a non-profit organization based in Portland, Maine, with 12 employees and an annual revenue of $2.5 million. The organization supports community-led initiatives in Cameroon by providing seed funding and programs focused on improving local income generation. They believe in empowering Cameroonian communities to identify and implement solutions to their most pressing needs. Breaking Ground operates through three key programs: the Community Partnership Program, which provides financial support to community-driven projects; Investing in Agriculture, which focuses on training and resources for farmers to enhance their income-generating activities; and the Women's Empowerment Program, which equips women with business skills and confidence to launch their own enterprises.
