Blind Service Association

Blind Service Association (BSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Chicago, Illinois. Operated by a team of three employees, BSA generates an annual revenue of $2.5 million. BSA empowers the blind and low vision community through diverse personalized services. These include one-to-one reading assistance, recording of non-previously recorded reading material, and braille tutoring. BSA also offers an employment program, specialized programs and events for seniors and youth, peer-led support groups, and recurring programs that foster connection and information sharing. Additionally, BSA hosts monthly special events such as presentations or field trips, manages a scholarship program offering up to $30,000, and organizes an annual Vision Expo showcasing the latest research, resources, and information related to blindness and low vision. BSA distinguishes itself through its comprehensive approach to supporting individuals experiencing vision loss, encompassing educational, employment, social, and financial assistance.
