Birdville Independent School District

Birdville Independent School District (BISD) is a public school district located in Haltom City, Texas. Employing 1,636 people, the district serves over 23,800 students across 33 campuses, including 21 elementary schools, seven middle schools, four high schools, and one career and technology campus. BISD provides a comprehensive educational program for students in pre-K through 12th grade. The core curriculum focuses on language arts, math, science, and social studies, aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). In addition to core subjects, students have access to a variety of programs, including college-level, pre-AP, and AP courses, world languages, fine arts, physical education/athletics, military science, and career and technology. Recognized for its exemplary programs, BISD's career and technology education department partners with businesses and industries in the community. The district's athletics program offers a full range of sports, competing in 13 sports in the University Interscholastic League, Class 5A and 6A, in Texas. BISD Fine Arts programs have earned recognition across the state and nation. BISD's commitment to innovation is evident in its Schools with a Specialization initiative, offering specialized programs at select campuses. These programs, designed to broaden students' educational experiences, include STEM, Leadership, Advanced Learning and College Prep, College Readiness, and Fine Arts.
