Barnes Center for Enlisted Education

The Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education is a non-profit organization located in Montgomery, Alabama. Employing 23 people, the center generates an estimated $1 billion in annual revenue. It was established to create and deliver Professional Military Education (EPME) for enlisted personnel in the United States Air Force. The Barnes Center's EPME programs are centered around guided discussion, where students collaborate to achieve educational objectives. The curriculum incorporates formative evaluations as feedback tools, as well as summative evaluations to assess student comprehension. In addition to lectures and academic research, courses include fitness training, drill and ceremony, and development of leadership, communication skills, and military studies knowledge. The Air Force has recognized the academic value of the Barnes Center's EPME courses, granting them college credit towards the Community College of the Air Force's Associate in Applied Science degree in Leadership, Management & Military Science.
