Association for Prevention Teaching and Research

The Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) is a national membership association based in Washington, District of Columbia. APTR is comprised of 12 employees. APTR serves medical, public health, and health professions faculty and institutions. They focus on advancing prevention and population health education, training, and research. Their membership includes preventive medicine programs, graduate programs in public health, medical school departments with a population health focus, health professions schools, and faculty responsible for teaching population health. APTR also supports accredited and emerging graduate programs across the United States that grant a variety of public health degrees through its Council of Graduate Programs in Public Health. APTR's mission is to advance prevention and population health education, training, and research. They achieve this through supporting their diverse membership of institutions and faculty.
