Asian American Organizing Project

The Asian American Organizing Project (AAOP) is a nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The organization employs 12 individuals and generates annual revenue of $2.5 million. AAOP focuses on empowering young Asian Minnesotans between the ages of 14 and 35, particularly those who identify as LGBTQ+ or women/femme. AAOP works to create systemic change towards a more equitable and just society by focusing on issues impacting young Asian communities. These include voting rights and access, civic engagement, climate justice, and reproductive justice. The organization utilizes a variety of methods to address these issues, such as youth participatory action research, grassroots organizing, canvassing, and narrative shift strategies. AAOP collaborates with both local and national partners to amplify the voices and experiences of young Asian Minnesotans.
