Art of Problem Solving Foundation

The Art of Problem Solving Initiative, originally known as the Art of Problem Solving Foundation, is a non-profit organization based in New York City. The organization is dedicated to supporting middle and high school students in their exploration of mathematical problem-solving. They employ 44 individuals and generate approximately $5 million in annual revenue. The Art of Problem Solving Initiative's flagship program, Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM), provides opportunities for underserved students with a strong aptitude for mathematics to develop pathways towards careers in science, mathematics, engineering, and programming. BEAM offers a summer program for students completing 6th grade, a residential summer program for students completing 7th grade, as well as year-round support and weekend programming that extends into college. In addition, the organization runs the USA Mathematical Talent Search, a national mail-in math contest where students have a month to solve five challenging problems. The Art of Problem Solving Initiative's mission is to ensure that all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, have access to the resources and opportunities necessary to excel in advanced mathematics.
