Aquarium of the Bay

Aquarium of the Bay is a non-profit organization located in San Francisco, California. With 82 employees, the Aquarium is a Smithsonian Affiliate and accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). It is also certified as a Green Business by the city of San Francisco. The Aquarium of the Bay provides visitors with an immersive experience exploring the diverse ecosystem and wildlife of San Francisco Bay. The Aquarium welcomes over half a million local and international visitors annually and offers a range of educational programs for kindergarten through high school students focused on watershed and environmental literacy. These programs aim to inspire and empower individuals to protect and restore the San Francisco Bay and its watershed. As a founding member of the San Francisco Bay Area Sustainable Seafood Alliance, Aquarium of the Bay is dedicated to educating guests about sustainable seafood and the impact of personal choices. They actively promote and enhance the sustainable seafood movement in the Bay Area, encouraging new restaurants to join the Alliance.
