American Occupational Health

The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) is a professional organization based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. It is comprised of over 4,500 physicians and other healthcare professionals specializing in occupational and environmental medicine (OEM). Founded in 1916, ACOEM is the largest medical society in the United States dedicated to promoting worker health through preventive medicine, clinical care, research, and education. ACOEM's members are specialists in a variety of medical practices who work together to develop positions and policies on important issues related to preventive medicine both within and outside the workplace. The organization sponsors the annual American Occupational Health Conference, the largest conference of its kind in the nation. ACOEM is a national organization composed of local component societies in the United States and Canada. These societies hold regular scientific meetings and networking events for their members.
