African American Arts Institute

The African American Arts Institute (AAAI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting African American culture. Located in Bloomington, Indiana, AAAI is a unique institution within Indiana University, offering credit-bearing university programs focused on Black music and dance. AAAI features three performance ensembles: the African American Choral Ensemble, the African American Dance Company, and the IU Soul Revue. Each ensemble is led by renowned professionals in their respective fields, providing students with exceptional training and mentorship. The institute hosts over thirty events annually, reaching thousands of students and community members.
