Africa Development Promise

Africa Development Promise is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Employing 5 to 9 individuals, the organization focuses on empowering rural entrepreneurial women in East Africa. Africa Development Promise works to advance sustainable business and economic independence in rural communities in Rwanda and Uganda. Their mission centers around agriculture, recognizing its significance in Eastern Africa, where over 70 percent of rural women rely on subsistence farming. Through cooperative models, the organization aims to transition women farmers from subsistence farming to agricultural enterprises. Africa Development Promise strengthens cooperative management, governance, efficiency, and sustainability. They also provide essential farm infrastructure, such as greenhouses, irrigation systems, and tools, to alleviate laborious tasks, enhance efficiency, and boost productivity. Through cooperatives, women gain valuable business skills, technical expertise, sustainable income, and opportunities to build savings.
