ACLU of Tennessee

The American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee (ACLU-TN) is a private, non-partisan, non-profit membership organization headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 1968, ACLU-TN is dedicated to protecting and promoting the enduring values of freedom, fairness, justice, and equality for all Tennesseans. The organization is comprised of a staff of seven, volunteers, interns, and cooperating attorneys, guided by a statewide board of directors. ACLU-TN works to translate the guarantees of the Bill of Rights into reality for all Tennesseans by challenging government abuse of rights and fighting for fairness in laws and their enforcement. They represent a diverse range of beliefs, committed to defending civil liberties and a dedication to freedom and fairness under the Constitution.
