Established in 1987 as part of the Conroe Independent School District, the Academy serves approximately 280 students selected from College Park High School, The Woodlands High School, and Oak Ridge High School. Students also participate in general high school courses alongside non-magnet program students. Admission to the Academy is competitive and requires an application, testing, and essay review process. As a member of the National Consortium of Specialized STEM Schools (NCSSS), the Academy of Science and Technology is committed to providing a high-quality STEM education.
