1st Marine Division

1st Marine Division is a military organization based in Camp Pendleton, California. As a multi-role, expeditionary ground combat force, the Division consists of approximately 140 employees. 1st Marine Division serves as the ground combat element for the I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) and is capable of providing task-organized forces for various operations, including assault missions and other directives. Their primary function is to provide the ground amphibious forcible entry capability to the naval expeditionary force (NEF) and conduct subsequent land operations in diverse environments.
