EYES DON’T LIE
What people say and what people do is seven times out of ten not the same.
EyeTrackShop combines implicit and explicit research techniques to resolve the most problematic challenges in consumer research: (1) preferences and behavior are difficult to explain, and (2) respondents often post-rationalize their true behavior.
HOW IT WORKS
1. BUILDING THE STUDY
You choose the ad, package design or website that you would like to test, and decide on the target group and geographical reach. Our research team builds the study and adds the follow up survey questions of your choice (standardized or customized).
2. DATA COLLECTION
Online survey respondents are provided by market research panel companies such as Cint, uSamp and Toluna. Our research team fields the study and monitors the progress. Each respondent is asked for permission to access their webcam, and is given simple instructions on how to complete the survey. We then calibrate the respondent’s eyes and display the content we are testing on the laptop screen. Our software records eye movements via the webcam. At the end of the survey, we turn off the webcam to stop the recording.
3. INSIGHT DELIVERY
Eye tracking data is uploaded to EyeTrackShop’s cloud-based servers for post-processing and aggregated with data from all the others who participated in the same study. The research team compiles the results in an easy-to-interpret report that brings you instant insights into where people look, for how long and in what order.
TECHNOLOGY POWERED BY STICKY
EyeTrackShop uses Sticky’s eye tracking technology to measure where a person is looking, for how long and in what order. While eye tracking technology has been around for years, what makes Sticky’s technology unique is that it isn’t applied in a laboratory or a controlled environment, but in the real world, using regular web cams.
The technology is developed in partnership with Tobii Technology who is the world leader in eye tracking and gaze interaction, and backed by Intel. Sticky offers access to its core technology—online eye tracking—through an API.
